The Hartford Historic Preservation Foundation Board of Directors is delighted to announce the ‘Chandelier Ballroom Kitchen Project!’
The attachments below show the proposed layout as well as a presentation which will guide you through the history of the Ballroom and the relevance of the kitchen.
Our goal is to restore the Chandelier Ballroom to its original grandeur and we feel that by renovating the kitchen it will put the finishing touch on this historic gem. The kitchen will also create jobs for local residents, offer another dining option in Hartford and provide the Ballroom with financial stability.
We will begin by catering to our existing customers, then catering to outside businesses and individuals and finally restoring the Fireside Room to a full service restaurant. In keeping with historical preservation, we will be retaining as many of the original kitchen elements as possible, which includes the flooring, green wall tiling, wooden pass through window, and cabinetry.
We have designed the following Catering Menus for our guests of the Ballroom to make event planning easier! We are proposing three different price points in order to appeal to everyone’s budget. Our catering menus offer a variety of sumptuous soups, salads, delicious entrees and accompaniments.. if a wedding cake is not part of your event planning process, we also offer a variety of miniature pastries! If you have any questions, comments or concerns we would enjoy hearing from you! We hope that by offering this additional service, we can make the wedding and event planning process more efficient for our guests and save them time and money by dealing with just one vendor.
Our proposed Restaurant Menu was created with the vision of ‘bistro pub meets supper club.’ We hope to fill a niche in the area by offering ‘small plate style’ appetizers and salads as well as a variety of quality steak, seafood, poultry and vegetarian entrees paired with sides that our chef selects! We want to bring some new ideas to the table and look forward to the possibility of building a greenhouse on site and using as many fresh, seasonal, organic ingredients as possible! Again, any suggestions you have are welcome! We want to reopen the restaurant and maintain that warm, historic charm the Ballroom is known for while providing delectable entrees and appetizers.
